Local or ex-local authority property

We won't consider:

  • Social housing including properties currently owned by a local authority, housing association, the MOD, Prison Service, or a utility company
  • Any property still subject to local authority or housing association restrictions, such as pre-emption rights or resale conditions

We can consider:

  • Former local authority, housing association, or MOD-owned properties, including flats, houses, and maisonettes
  • As long as:
    • There are no resale restrictions or pre-emption rights
    • The valuer confirms the property is readily saleable
    • There’s strong local demand


For flats where the loan-to-value (LTV) exceeds 85%, the maximum loan amount is £275,000
