There are a various fees associated with taking out a mortgage
Product fees
Some products have a fee payable on them. This can be added to the loan above LTV maxima, please bear in mind that interest will be payable at the product rate for the term if you do this.
Legal fees
Legal fees are paid to the solicitor for legal work done on behalf of the customer and lender, for example, checking the title and registering the mortgage deed.
Valuation fees
Most of our products come with a free valuation, but where payable, this covers the cost of us assessing the suitability of the security.
CHAPS fees
This is a charge for sending mortgage funds to the solicitor on completion.
Early repayment charges (ERCs)
This is a fee payable if some or all of the mortgage is repaid early. These fees are included in the ESIS and the mortgage offer.
