Intermediaries are expected to act appropriately when dealing with any application where there may be a conflict of interest, and ensure extra care and due diligence are taken where conflict of interest may be present. Examples of this be:
- Joint application for debt consolidation, where debt consolidated is only in one customer’s name
- Joint application for capital raising, where the capital raising is for the benefit of one customer
- We typically won’t allow a broker to advise on their own application where the application is in joint names, please discuss any such case with your account manager before applying
